Introduction
The Hakumok Swamp is a 17,000-acre wetland near Bridgewater, Massachusetts. In the 1600s, it was inhabited by the Wampanoag tribe of Native Americans. One legend tells how during those times of upheaval and invasion by the colonies, a powerful artifact was lost in the swamp.
