Is There a Utilitarianism?
Anarchism and libertarianism share in common this micro-foundational attachment to the individual as the bearer of pleasures and pains. This makes it very difficult to argue with real committed ego tests, right? Very difficult. And so there isn't really a utilitarianism, any concept of society or any concept of polity or community. It doesn't really come into it. But some people view that as emancipatory because it is a basis for making a global redistribution argument.
