I think the first approximation n response i have to this war is that the united states is much stronger than i feared it was. The collapse of afghanistan might have caused many observers, myself included, to be more pessimistic about the u.Ss ability to back allies. But you know, afghanistan is ave different culture than u krane. Same policies that might be a complete waste of effort in afghanistan may end up working fairly well in ukraine.
