What Is the Data Network?
The original cell phone standards didn't have real data involved. They were just for circuits, which voice calls and the data side was kind of bolted on. So as far as Android is concerned, like data over the years would be just like even the Ethernet port inside the phone. This is actually why they let you go off of airplane mode when you're taxing those so that by the time you get to the gate, maybe you've gone through that roaming hassle.
