The Manhattan Project: A History of Security
The Manhattan Project had 150,000 participants within it. Many of the people recruited went on to have extensive careers in the CIA. The project's secret budget and lack of legislative oversight made it America's first large scale black budget program. Some of the security practices that groves adopted during the Manhattan Project still persist to this day.
