Federal scientists have issued requests to test the brain tissue of eight people who have died as a result of the mysterious infection. New Brunswick officials have refused permission for such studies, time and time again. The provincial government has since sought to distance themselves from Dr. Elier Morero, the neurologist who identified the infection. For the most part, experts can only agree on one thing. Due to the volume, age range and locations of those sufferings suggest a much more thorough investigation is required.
