The Hypothalamus Doesn't Matter for a Determination of Brain Death
In my mind, if we're going to say someone's dead, we need to be certain that they're dead. And omitting a part of the brain because it's inconvenient or because we don't think it's important is a really big issue. It just points to the grip that the culture of death has on society, that we don't care about these patients. The body matters. If you can't make your will known, then you might as well be dead.
