The Importance of Meaningful Psychological Change

We know quite a bit about how long psychotherapy takes on average, but researchers don't study therapies of realistic duration. So I think symptoms like depression and anxiety are effects, not causes. You know, the analogy is fever. If you get sick, there's a good chance you may be running a fever. And what a medically what a fever is is a nonspecific physiological response to an enormous range of underlying conditions.
