How Much Does the SEC Care About the Name?
The SEC looks at the ticker itself and what's in the ticker or what's implied by the ticker. Some advisors may want watered down ESG because they don't like tracking her. But an ESG advocate would argue that's not really ESG investing. The same thing happens in smart beta. There's value ETFs that are just barely value and a quant would be like, "That's not really value investing"
