The Relationship Between Qatar and the Arabian Gulf Region

In the early Bedwan days there were no real political borders so to speak of the tribe was the primary political unit. Later during the purling era countries began to begin to draw up national borders and those became enormously consequential later when petroleum was discovered. Qatar itself has been ruled for more than 150 years by a single dynastic family the Althanes. The other Gulf nations are ruled by these long-standing dynastic families who are an outgrowth of the original tribes.
