Cancer and the Immune System
The vaccine field has been extremely successful at generating vaccines against infectious disease. We have eradicated smallpox, we are controlling polio and the latest success is COVID. It has been much more difficult to generate T cell responses against cancer cells. And these new modalities are much more potent at eliciting CD80 cell responses than previous vaccine platform even 10 or 15 years ago.
