Sally Kohn: Just because you're not a panpsychist doesn't mean that you don't need to make sense of mental combination. She says we have evidence that both cerebral hemispheres are independently capable of supporting a stream of consciousness, at least in conjunction with the brainstem and sub-portical structures. Kohn: We should move away from what you might call the Cartesian model of a mind where minds are perfectly integrated internally.
