The Importance of Bench Time

When you're not billing hourly, you're on the bench. So every hour that goes by and I'm not billing my hourly rate, that's taking out of the hourly rate that I built last week. Out of our 160,000 members, 87% don't qualify for their health insurance. The studios proposed that background actors could get paid for one day of work. They would be scanned using AI. That's unacceptable. Their image should not be used in perpetuity. And similarly with writers, you should not be able to train AI using our work to then spit out a script that I don't get paid for. It's just not right.
