The Chinese Acceptance of Russia

The Chinese embrace of Russia means number one, that nothing will weaken the ties between China and Russia under these two presidents. I think that obviously the Chinese view at the time was the Russians are going to win this quite easily. And we're going to have to deal with a rather confident Russia. Putin is now in a very weak position. It's great for Chinese. Here's my chance now. But what's clear is... For the Chinese, the Russians impending are what looks like defeat in Ukraine is great - because they're dealing with a wounded animal. A wounded animal that needs mates, a wounded animal that has to look somewhere else.
