What Are Tasks and What Are Projects?

With massive projects there are loads of tasks and with the research project I'm doing at the moment when I say 2-300 tasks to do quite easily. The only way in my head that I can differentiate a project in a task is a project has multiple tasks yeah but a task has subtasks which means a task could be a projectYeah so I don't like saying oh this is a project this is a task the only reason I have a project label for things is to group similar tasks together. Now my priority is literally I am so hyper focused on just getting through the day and allowing that to come through so I want to discuss sort of tasks a little bit more.
