The Titanic set off from Southampton, England on its maiden voyage to the Americas in 1912. It was a luxury passenger ship that could carry over 2,400 passengers as well as 900 crew members. The largest boat afloat at the time, measuring 882 feet long, 92 feet wide and 175 feet tall.
