Putin's Going Back to the Soviet Era

In many ways, Putin has gone back to the old Soviet era. They are now embedded in military units that are monitoring the military commanders and morale. So he's clearly worried about that. And everybody knows this. The officers in the army know this. Everybody around him is, I'm sure, very conscious that they may fall under suspicion even if they're just meeting a lot.
