The word is now very much out about the deliciousness of Italian food. But in 1878, when this place first opened, who would have been coming here? You would have had the women from the community come up and from the community coming here. Back then in the 50s, it all would have been very exotic. They made sandwiches, they served coffee, but they were few and far between you.
