I think people have a sort of connection with and recognize a certain style in, si, suppose, what might be considered old fashioned paintings now. And i think the thing about when you're painting food, it's that stuff that we take for granted. One of the reasons i did a series of root vegetables was that they are humble vegetables. But they're actually very beautiful things as plants, when they've got growing tops. They have a whole life cycle of leaves, and then sometimes incredible flowers, and then seeds, and then you're in next year. You can't have all of those seasons in one photograph. You've got to wait.
