The Importance of the Judiciary to Social Change
The film is based on a 250-page manuscript written by Obama's former economics professor, Robert Fisher. The outline for the book was called Transformed Politics and it hits on themes of "the American left had lost faith in democratic discourse," he says. He believes that reliance on the judiciary to promote social change has led to bureaucratic centralization. In absence of post-labor unions, only institutions workers have are class action lawsuits or discrimination law.
