decentralised energy systems are just a component of that. It goes back to looking at local communities, cities and counties as integrated whole systems. You knowt one of my favorite people is this architect, mark lakeman ina portland who travelled all round the world for about five years back in the nineties. He was struck by the fact that thereis no public space in America where people gather and talk about stuff. In order to have democracy, people have to get out and talk about issues. They have to have places and venus where they can communicate about stuff that really matters to them.
