How to Optimize Oxygenation
The first thing is all about the fraction of inspired oxygen. So the f i o two to the proportion of that being ventilated or pushed into those lungs. The greater the tidal volume, the greater the pressure essentially we're providing to those airways. And you can basically reduce the amount of time the patient spends in the exhalation phase so that actually the mean airway pressure over the respiritory cycle increases.
