Is the Evil the Death Penalty on Par?

I would say that the answer is no. And i myself am, am pretty solidly opposed to capital punishment both for prudential reasons and for principald reasons. The church's teaching on death penalty is not like its teaching on abortion. We simply don't have as much magisterial teaching on the culpability and gravity of politicians voting for or against it. But ultimately, i'm just going to call their bluff and say it nt matter. Because for you guys, even if they did do this, you still wouldn't, wouldn't care.
