The Science of Math

Dr. Powell: How can we get our institutions, our training and our teacher professional development programs to start to dispel some of these myths so that we have math instruction that's aligned with the science of math? He says after every myth, there's a truth behind it. So I think really taking an inventory of not only what's going on in our math classrooms, but how do we approach math teaching? And then thinking about, all right. What are those evidence based practices that we should be using so that every student in every classroom has an opportunity to learn math?
