The Effects of Exercise on Fat Oxidation

Rominge: Initially, there's an increase in fat oxidation and an increase in carbohydrate oxidation. And then as you go up higher, it drops. But if you look at that romaine paper and Luke Van Loon's paper in 2004 and JFiz afterwards, they both show about 25% of your energy even at 85% VO2 peak. So I just want people to realize that going from a walk to a slow jog or whatever, it's not necessarily a fat oxidation, just dropping away.
