Broiler Temperatures
The ideal space between the broiler and your item that your broiling should be about four inches, maybe six inches tops. The general temperature for broiling is between 500 and 600 degrees. There are other problems with broilers is they have hot spots. And preheating a broiler, I have to preheat it for 15 or 20 minutes because five or 10 minutes just not enough to really get it going.
