Eliza ran at m i t on what seemed to the world like an impossibly powerful machine, and perry at stam fored on another giant computer. They talked to each other using early arpinet, what would become the internet. col actually did this neat thing with perry. He had real therapus talk to perry, telling them it was a patient who, for some unexplainable reason, was only available over a teletype computer. This was the paranoid schits phrania turring test. Perry passed during test.
