How to Study a White Dwarf
The white dwarf was discovered with this instrument called ZTF, Zwicky Transient Facility. It's a part of a systematic campaign to look at all the objects that are massive white dwarfs and likely to be rotating quickly. The spectra here we're taken at the Keck Observatory with the low resolution spectrograph - it's very effective.
