The Venn Diagram Between Bio Orthogonal Chemistry and Click Chemistry

By the early 2000s, we were focusing on how to make bio orthogonal reactions go as fast as possible. And that's where we had a bit of a touchpoint with the other laureates who were developing the so-called click chemistries. But they really didn't solve our problem. They got us on a different path and we ended up figuring out how to make a click chemistry that didn't require the copper. That turned out to be one of the useful bio orthogona chemistries.
