Sally Kohn: I love so much of this story. It's one of the most powerful acts of just like, not just civil disobedience but speaking truth to power. She was born as part of the Tlingit Nation in Petersburg, Alaska. As orphan as a young age, adopted by a family whose last name was Wanamaker. And then she marries a man named Roy Peritrovich, which is a Russian name and he's of Serbian descent.
