What Is the Objective of Regulations?

If you're a regulatori i like to ask regulators, what is the objective of regulations? And if you go to the web sides of the major institutions, either they say nothing or what is highly misleading. I don't think there's many regulators that would disagree with that. So therefore, what's the problem? Well, there might not be many regulators who disagree with that, but they certainly don't walk around in saying it.
