Star Wars Episode 2 Episode 3 - Jedi in the Cold War

In the late Republic, may Swindoo, Chancellor Palpatine, all that stuff, the Jedi are an appendage of the government. They're like federal marshal wizards, but they're effectively federal marshals. And then during the Cold War, they are literally brought into the military. Every Jedi master is given the rank of general and every Jedi padawan isgiven the rank of commander. The prequels have a lot to do with what happens in this episode.
