The History of Jargon in Language

New lethality is from the 1980s, and it was very important for kind of recalibrating the army in the 1980s. People like to think that it's a matticism, but it actually has quite a bit of history. And the same with something like overmatch, I think overmatch has, was never quite such a cult following a lethality. So those are two of my favorites to study because they're great examples of jargon that comes into fashion, and then falls out of favor, and then comes back again.
