The Midterms Feel Like an Age Ago
I think what we saw in the outcome of the midterm elections was a translation of US support for Ukraine at the ballot box. Instinctively Americans as a people I think we like to support the underdog and instinctively we like to stick it to Russia if given the opportunity. So I'm not surprised that the candidates that were returned to the Congress or that won their seats for the first time were ones that will overwhelmingly want to continue to support Ukraine. It is in America's interests that Ukraine is victorious and that Russia is weakened in this conflict. We'll see some responsible voting and responsible policies being pursued in the coming months by the new Congress.
