The Origins of Rome's Mythology
The Fastie is a work of Ovid's that I've rarely ever consulted for the podcast because while it contains bits of mythology, it's much more like...about just Rome. It features the story of bringing Cabelle to Rome, something that would have happened about 200 years before Ovid's time. The Romans had learned that in order to succeed in their war, they would need to bring their mother goddess to Rome officially. But if they thought it would be a simple task, one that would go smoothly, just bringing a goddess across the Mediterranean, they were wrong. No one could free this ship until one woman stepped up to try.
