Diamond argues that the urasian continent benefited from a set of geographic and environmental conditions. This made agriculture, trade, and then eventually empire building, easier than in other parts of the world. According to diamond, this place was perfect because there were a number of indigenous crops that could be easily farmed as staple foods. These very specific factors can set a society on the path to developing the guns, germs and steel that diamond believes were the difference makers when we got to the colonial age.
