Jürgen Moltzmann wrote a theology of hope in the 1960s. He believed as a Marxist we create the future from building blocks in the present. But for a Christian time goes in the opposite direction, he argues. The future is latent in God's promises for the new and the future transforms our present so how does this impact us in the present?
