Why Should We Care About Philosophy?

I think that's an overall answer to why should we care about philosophy and about the relationship between science and religion in particular. How would you fit philosophy as a discipline within this debate itself? The answer to that question depends on my personal philosophical views, I'm not there to preach anything or try to convince anyone to anything. But I think that philosophy can and should be a science in the sense of being a subject which provides a systematic answer to certain questions. This is conflating apples and oranges. And here I'm going to let myself to express my personal Philosophical views. In the salon I'mgoing to hesitate with that. I'm simply there to be an entertaining host.
