The Ideal Company Commander
My mother was the first one up every morning. She prepared breakfast for my sister Ann and me, and she was the last one to bed every evening. In many respects, she was the ideal company commander. And subconsciously, I'm sure I patterned my own leadership abilities on this remarkable woman. A mother takes a child, she nurtures him, she instills discipline, and she teaches respect. Honesty and discipline were driven into my head from day one.
