The Different Artefacts of Mindfulness
Each tradition uses its own language, but they're all pointing to aspects of our experience. So one aspect of mindfulness is that of a cultivated state where we really are making an effort to be attentive. It's this kind of effort to be mindful that brings us back to the moment when we're lost. This distinction also helps us understand how different of the Buddhist traditions speak of mindfulness and it points again to further nuances in our understanding of mindfulness.
