Dr. Wengar: Calcium has fallen out of my use for sort of the undifferentiated cardiac arrest, still using it in patients who I suspect are hyper-calemic or are like a massive trauma so their calcium is going to be super low. He says he's leery of BVM without anti-tidal CO2 and thinks it's a crap shoot as to whether that is making things worse or better. "I'm not going to sit up there at the head of the bed and do BVM during an entire arrest," he adds.
