Political Liberty

In a political regime of maximized personal and economic liberty, people are going to choose to do this is shift. So if you're a conservative and you have a set of particular preferences about the way that society, like the tastes and values in a society, you can value liberty so long as some like you haven't hit a critical mass of people choosing differently then what it is that you prefer. But once you hit that critical point, your choice becomes to either say, oh, no, we've gone too far now. We need to crack down on liberty or scale things back. In the second case, i would argue you simply have become a libertarian. You've given up conservatism.
