On May 4, 1919, at Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China, 3,000 students protest the actions of the Chinese government. The student joins thousands of others in calling for an end to the government's weakness and their acceptance of Japanese imperialism. On December 21, 1968, Apollo 8, the first spacecraft to successfully orbit the moon and return to Earth, launches from the Kennedy Space Center.
