How Much Did Editing Teach You About Writing?
I always tell people not to edit as they go, but i still do it, being an editor before you write. So once i've got the first draft, i'm really good at going back and editing it the whole thing properly. But it is quite hard to stop yourself editing as you're writing,. when you go back do that big ed it the first time. And how much, generally, did editing teach me about writing creatively? Oh, writing and editing are completely different things. I feel you have to have your writer's head on and and not go back and edit too much. Otherwise the temptation is to go back to the beginning and re read everything and change things and mess
