The 2009 Green Movement Changed My Life
Negar Mortaza V. is an Iranian-American journalist and political commentator. She studied international development and worked at the UN. In 2009, after incumbent President Ahmadinejad declared victory in the 2009 presidential election, protests broke out sparking what's often called the green movement. The wave of protests was the largest since the Iranian revolution in the late 70s.
