Do You Need to Disable Default Features?
It's extremely rare actually that you need to disable default features. You sometimes have to add additional features which is the case for example with Cerdi but that's usually because the feature is somewhat heavy. I think what Cerdi is probably getting at is if you have a library or an application that just wants to take types that you're then going to serialize or deserialize than there's no reason for you to use the feature as you'd rather save that in your compile time. Like this is the same thing with Cerdi right if if they defaulted to including the derived feature everyone's compile times would be longer and it's not necessarily necessary.
