The H5N1 Highly Pathogenic Avian Flu

Roland Pies: I've been following the threat of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian flu since at least the early 2000s. He says COVID has shown how disruptive an airborne disease can be even if the fatality rate is below the percentage scale. The spike protein is like the hemaglutinin protein of the avian influenza virus with which it attaches to the host cell. And the other one, the neuraminidase is like scissors with which it actually releases itself from the host cell and then can go to the next host cell or to the next patient.
