What's the Official U.S. Judgment on This?
Gordon Brown: The U.S. seems pretty clear that it's a surveillance balloon. China, just earlier, had said that this was actually a scientific balloon mainly used for weather research and that it drifted off course. He says the fact that the Chinese issued a statement is an unusual thing because they're known as a very sort of secretive government.
