I'm Choosing to Explain the Why. When the Opportunity Presents Itself
I decided when I took my last command that I was going to take every opportunity to explain the why. So long as you understand that if I say, take the hill and take it now and don't call me until you've taken it, you're going to move out without question. And on only one or two occasions, do I think it ever had to come down to that? But before then I invested in going to every unit, particularly when missions were either very complicated or hard for the soldier to understand.
