Ettory's tendency to isolate himself was a habit that would stick with him for the rest of his life. Ettory attended school in Catania until 1921, when he was 15. He then set out to follow in his father's footsteps and become an engineer. The Via Panesparena Boys got their name from a street in the town where the university was located. They were young men looking to push the boundaries of understanding in the field of physics.
